Technics DJ Equipment
Cheap Technics DJ Equipment including Techics headphones, mixers, CD players and the famous SL1200 and 1210 turntables!
Just what is Technics DJ Equipment?
One of the first things I ever learnt when being taught how to DJ was that Technics DJ Equipment were the kings! This was during the 1990s and now the scene has changed a little with Pioneer gaining the upper hand when it comes to digital equipment in recent years.
Technics DJ Equipment were the pioneers of DJ gear (spot the irony!), since the 1970s. Their 1200 and 1210 models revolutionised the way in which DJs wanted to mix their records and became the club standard till the decline of vinyl in the early 21st century. The solid feel and reliability inspired most DJs. The great news is that in this day and age Technics DJ Equipment such as turntables are now seen as cheap DJ equipment. The whole world has gone digital and this has left Technics DJ Equipment with no choice but to discontinue production of their turntables. This is good news for vinyl purists who can snap them up easily for cheap nowadays. Its also suggested that if you want to learn how to DJ and hone your skills to a maximum then startingout on a proper turn table is the way to go.
Are Technics DJ Equipment still the best?
Technics DJ Equipment may not be the market leader in the CD player market however that is only a testament to Pioneers excellent quality. The Technics SLDZ1200 is still an excellent piece of kit. If you’re progressing from using a 1200 turntable then you will feel right at home with both the look and the feel of these decks. The usual turntable layout is still there with pitch fader, start/stop button and the platter. There are 4 cue pads which mean you can set up, up to 4, different cue points in a track and access them instantly. So no need to manually find the part of the track you want like with vinyl. A nice touch to this model is some effect switches. This even includes a vinyl mode, so you can even get your tracks to sound like they are being played of vinyl! Great news for purists! Also, if you have tracks on a SD card you can play them straight off there.
Is it true that Technics DJ Equipment produce the best headphones?
Some DJs I have met on the circuit swear by Technics headphones and consider them the standard for a DJ. I don’t agree completely with that but I do agree that you wont go far wrong with a good pair of Technics headphones. The key thing about headphones is the external noise reduction which allows you to hear the tracks you are mixing even better and therefore you have no excuse for clanging. Technics clearly know what a DJ wants when they build their DJ equipment as all their headphones are excellent for that. The RPDJ1200 headphones are excellent and will last you for years to boot.
Technics are still one of the top quality suppliers of DJ equipment around. Its been said your not a real DJ if you don’t own a pair of 1200s and the same is still true for today!
